Why we built Digital Dermatology
In 2025, Adrian Mar and Sarah Hannam co-founded Digital Dermatology to offer an innovative alternative to traditional specialist care. They were motivated by the long wait times to see dermatologists and the shortage of specialists across many parts of Australia.
Adrian, who had been delivering telehealth services to rural communities since 2013, knew firsthand that virtual care could be effective. Sarah understood how challenging it was for busy individuals, like herself and her patients juggling work and family, to find time for in-person appointments.
Together, they created Digital Dermatology: a platform designed to ensure that anyone, anywhere, can access timely, expert care from a qualified dermatologist.

What we offer
If you’re experiencing a problem with your skin, hair, or nails, consulting with a dermatologist means you’re accessing the highest level of specialist care available.
For more severe or complex conditions, such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, or hives, certain medications can only be prescribed by a dermatologist. Thanks to our digital service, these prescriptions can now be delivered via eScript for added convenience.
Thanks to our digital service, you can receive an e-script and have your medication delivered to your home for free – making it even more convenient for you.
Meet our co-founders
A/Prof Adrian Mar
A/Prof Adrian Mar is a Melbourne-based dermatologist with many years of experience in both public and private practice. He was Head of the Dermatology Department at Monash Health for 18 years and has been using telehealth since 2013 to help serve rural communities across Victoria.
A/Prof Mar has a subspecialty interest in vitiligo and is the Co-Founder of the Vitiligo Clinic at the Skin Health Institute in Melbourne.
Dr Sarah Hannam
Dr Sarah Hannam is a Sydney-based dermatologist with comprehensive experience across all areas of dermatology. After completing her specialist training, she undertook a fellowship in London, further broadening her expertise. In addition to her private practice, she has worked in major public hospitals and participated in dermatology outreach initiatives in the South Pacific.
Dr Hannam serves on the board of the Australasian Society of Cosmetic and Procedural Dermatologists (ASCPD) and is the Co-Editor-in-Chief of the ASCPD Journal.
